BUK Registrar Mal. Haruna Aliyu Receives Prestigious Workers' Day Award for Exemplary Leadership

 

In a moment of immense pride and inspiration, the Registrar of Bayero University, Kano, Malam Haruna Alivu. was honoured with a distinguished merit award by

the Kano State Councils of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC). The recognition came during the 2025 Workers' Day celebration held on Wednesday, Ist May. The award, presented personally by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, acknowledged Malam Aliyu's outstanding contributions to public service, marked by his human-centered leadership, dedication to staff welfare, and commitment to administrative excellence.

Speaking at the event, Governor Yusuf praised the awardees for their exceptional service and exemplary conduct. noting that their selection was based on merit and

integrity. He urged them to view the honour as a call to further dedication and service, reaffirming his administration's commitment to improving the welfare of workers and the broader citizenry of Kano State.

The recognition of Malam Haruna Aliyu, a respected figure in academic administration and a role model to many, added a deeper sense of pride to the celebration. His honour was not only a personal achievement but a moment of collective joy for the university community and beyond. Indeed, the 2025 Workers' Day stood out not just as a tribute to the Nigerian workforce, but as a celebration of

visionary leadership that continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of the other. Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Alhaji Haruna Aliyu expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for making him amongst the awardees. He dedicated the award to the entire staff of Bayero University.

Malam Haruna while appreciating the special recognition also reaffirmed his commitment to put more efforts in the service of the public. "This will spur me to do more Insha Allah".
