BUK Re-brands Website

In an effort to improve visibility of the institution, Bayero University through its Centre for Information Technology (CIT) on Wednesday, 3rd November, 2021 launched its new official website. The new brand website reflects the vibrant, disciplined, inspired, and engaging personality of the University. It was designed to make a distinctive and positive impression, as the university continues to provide a platform for collaborators and research partners.

The launch of the new website which took place during the 393rd Senate Meeting held at the Convocation Arena follows the rebranding of the old website and developed a new one based on the best global practice capable of accommodating challenges of the digital age.

While unveiling the new website, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, who championed the initiative, said the university was able to develop the website through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Normal Intervention as part of its effort to improve not only the content of the website but to increase visibility of the University at large.

Professor Abbas who lauded the effort of the Centre for developing the new website using state-of-the-art facilities, said the new development was part of promises made during his campaign to increase visibility of the university globally.

 “We are very excited about the launch of our new brand website at this pivotal time in our history. Our new website, which builds on our rich heritage, reflects who we are today, our ambitions for the future and our resolve to sustain superior value to research,”  he said.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Centre for Information Technology (CIT), Professor Bashir Galadanci said the content and website was designed according to the global best practice. He further explained that TETFund was impressed with the website but some recommendations for inclusion of Google map and calendar only.

During demonstration of the website to members of the Senate, the Head of Website Development, Malama Hafsat Musa Abdullahi said the website was developed using best and latest available technology globally.

With its centralised home page and clearly delineated tabs, the new site delivers relevant content in a clean and organised way to provide visitors easy access and navigation to all the information they require about the University.

In addition, BUK has also re-branded its social media assets. The re-branded website now includes Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
